As part of the implementation of the Occupational Disease Action Plan, a Lung and Skin Allergens and Irritants Working Group has been formed. The working group has prioritized four exposures as follows:
Irritants | Allergens | |
Lung | Cleaning agents | Isocyanates |
Skin | Wet work | Preservatives |
CREOD has created several background documents and resources related to this work and the priority exposures. There are a set of background documents related to each of the four priority exposures, customized to the sectors within the four sector-based health and safety associations including Infrastructure Health and Safety Association, Public Services Health and Safety Association, Workplace Safety North and Workplace Safety and Prevention Services. Clicking on the priority exposure will link with the four sector specific documents.
Fact sheets for prevention of skin exposures for cleaners are available.
