Joint Health and Safety Committees Program Lead: Kathryn Nichol

Kathryn Nichol is the Associate Director of the Centre for Research Expertise in Occupational Disease (CREOD). A Registered Nurse by background, Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Health Science in Occupational and Environmental Health and a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science, all from the University of Toronto, and has previously worked in acute care, government, academia and as a consultant.

Dr. Kathryn Nichol assumed the position of President and CEO of VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) following more than four years as VHA’s Vice President of Quality, Best Practice, Research and Education and Chief Nursing Executive. Kathryn is also Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto where she teaches, supervises graduate students and conducts research focused on the health and wellness of nurses and interprofessional teams. She is also Chair of the Research Advisory Council for The Institute for Education Research at the Michener Institute at University Health Network.
